Suddenly, the car abruptly halted in the middle of the road. A tiny kitten was responsible for this mishap and it immediately froze, shrinking and refusing to move. Such situations can happen to anyone, but not everyone would have reacted like this man did. He pulled over to the curb, alighted from his car and walked over to the highway to rescue the little scared kitten. The driver, who mistook it for a regular cat, perhaps had never encountered such an error before.
Later that night, Jamie Veronica from Big Cat Rescue received a phone call in her accommodation. The caller was from the veterinary hospital and informed her that the man who had taken the kitten earlier had brought it to them. They requested Jamie to pick up a red lynx baby!
Upon receiving the information, Veronica and her colleagues rushed to the location and spotted the kitten still snuggled up in a cardboard box. Although he seemed to relish his comfortable spot, they knew they had to take him with them. However, picking him up proved to be quite a challenge as he fiercely resisted their attempts. Eventually, they had to resort to wearing their thickest work gloves to safely put him in a cage, as he hissed, growled, and even bit at them.
The rescue team was satisfied with the aggressive behavior displayed by the red lynx. It’s essential to keep in mind that wild animals shouldn’t get accustomed to human interaction. The team preferred the lynx’s hostile demeanor rather than it being friendly towards them since it’s crucial for the animal to stay wild. We can’t determine if the kitten got lost or abandoned, but it’s evident that it separated from its mother too soon.
The little one was taken to Big Cat Rescue where it stayed for a period of four months. It is important to note that lynxes need to reach a certain size in order to survive on their own, as they are independent creatures who must hunt and gather their own food.
For days on end, the child indulged in playing with his beloved stuffed squirrel toy. However, when he grew tired of this pastime, he transitioned to a more engaging and productive activity – ripping up cardboard boxes. ?
Recently, on January 8th, the adorable little one was set free into its natural habitat!
